George Ziegler (general)

George Milton Zeigler (1832–1912) was a Union Civil War officer from Ohio. He was commissioned a second lieutenant on August 28, 1861. He was promoted to first lieutenant on December 6, 1861 and later to captain on December 28, 1862. On December 22, 1864, he was promoted to colonel of the 52nd Regiment of United States Colored Troops. His promotion to brevet brigadier general of volunteers was dated March 13, 1865.
